Where is the meeting point for the race start?

COAST TO COAST will start at Top Rock – Saama village in the North of Efate Island. and finish at 83 Islands Distillery (Port Vila)

What are the meeting times?

Runners are expected at the meeting site at 5.15 at the 83 Islands Distillery, Stella Mare – Port vila, Efate.

Parking site will be indicated by assistants. Please follow their instructions.

Places are very limited, please organize carpooling.

A free bus service will be organized from 83 Islands Distillery for all runners to reach start site at Saama village, north Efate.

How can I get to the start location of the race?

If you wish to be dropped off at the start location with your own car, please be there at 6.30 am. It is approximately a one-hour drive from Port Vila.

Check in and BIB distribution

You must collect your bibs at 5.15 at 83 islands distillery.

To facilitate the distribution of bibs, please remember your number.
It will be emailed to you.

Start time

Please note that it is the responsibility of each runner to ensure that they arrive at the start site on time with their bibs proprerly attached to the front of their chest.

Start time: 7.00 am at Saama village.

A briefing will be given at 6.45 am.

The races will start at the scheduled time.
Any late runner will be automatically disqualified.

Equipment

Wearing the bib front and back is mandatory.
It is strongly recommended to carry the following equipment:

  • Running shoes suitable for difficult terrain (steep, muddy, small river crossings, rocks, etc.)
  • Water minimum 2L
  • Food reserve for the duration of the race
  • 1 phone
  • First Aid kit with 40 cm strapping band
  • A whistle
  • Pants or long socks, gloves
  • .gpx file (optional)

The difficult access conditions of the track make it difficult to supply points.

At CP1, 6 km after the start, you can refill water, dried fruit and biscuits.

From CP1 to CP2 (Mac Donald Summit) you cross 3 rivers to refill water. Don’t forget to refill a maximum of water at the last river (see the poster), no more water after this river until CP5 at KM 20.

Race’s Progress

The RAID PACIFIC ENERGY is a race in Individual (men and women, aged 18 years old and above).

At each checkpoint, make sure that the controllers have checked your bib numbers (be patient if there is a wait, take advantage of it to eat and drink).

Courses

The race is marked with purple paint and cloth tape.

At regular intervals, you will also find information posters informing you about your progress, according to the official map of your course.

Abandon / Disqualification

If you wish to abandon your course, do so only at a checkpoint by giving your bib number to the controllers who will take the appropriate measures.

The disqualification of the runner will be pronounced in the following cases:

  • Absence of race number or race number not visible on the chest;
  • Exchange of race number before or during the race, not in accordance with the organization;
  • Not respecting the time barriers at CP;
  • Taking a road that does not conform to the courses established by the organization;
  • Non assistance to another runner

Security

Safety is everyone’s business.

By your behaviour during the event, you must make sure to maintain your own physical integrity by adopting a speed adapted to your aptitude and physical condition.

Throughout the course, ProRescue staff will be present to provide first aid if necessary. They will be equipped with a radio and will be able to take the most appropriate measures for your situation.

If you need assistance:

  • Stay on the road ;
  • Identify with your map the nearest Prorescue point and try to get there ;
  • Use your phone by calling : 555 3153
  • Ask for assistance from another runner ;
  • Use your whistle to alert the runners around.

2 Promedical station will be at your disposal for this event:

  • CP2;
  • CP3;

After Race

Free fruits will be available upon arrival.

K2 Kitchen will be present if you wish to eat.

Race conditions

The race takes place in the jungle / bush on rough terrain: hilly, steep and muddy.
Some passages include small river crossings.

After Party

An after party is scheduled from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm 83 islands distillery.
